Edit

REU

DMBBS supports loading the main BBS program and MOD executables in an REU which is mounts as a RAM disk.

Edit

Modems

DMBBS supports many common modems with default connection strings. Additionally, it can be used with most Hayes compatible modems, but you must figure out the carrier detect inversion requirements. You may supply your own initialization string for any modem supporting the Hayes command set. DMBBS uses the numeric return codes, not text codes to interact with the modem. If your modem or modem emulator do not support this then you may not be able to answer calls to your BBS. DMBBS does not support SwiftLink or Turbo232 based cartridges.

Edit

Printers

Any IEC serial printer may be used with DMBBS. DMBBS supports logging straight to the printer instead of to disk.

Edit

Monitors

Any monitor or TV capable of displaying video from the Commodore 64 will work with DMBBS. Nothing in the BBS is dependent upon recognition color, so a monochrome display may be used.

Mods

Premium

The various entities that have sold DMBBS over the years also provided premium modules as well as the BBS. These mods are not in the DM49.zip archive below.

Public Domain

In addition to the paid mods for DMBBS, there was a very robust scene of free mods for the BBS as well. These mods are in the DM49.zip archive below.
